What fails first on American Range equipment
Commercial gas equipment fails in predictable places. Burners clog and corrode from spillover, producing an uneven flame or a unit that won’t light. Gas valves stick or leak after years of heat cycling. Thermostats drift, so oven temperatures stop matching the dial.
Pilot assemblies and thermocouples are the most common no-heat service call — the pilot lights but won’t stay lit once you release the knob. Knobs, grates and door hinges simply wear out under daily use.

Every American Range part carries a number stamped on the component itself — usually beginning with A or AI, like A11152 or A29209. Search that number and you’ll land on the exact part.

How do I find my American Range model number?
Check the data plate, usually inside the oven door frame or behind the kick plate at the base of the unit.
Why won’t my pilot stay lit?
Usually a failing thermocouple. If the pilot lights but goes out when you release the knob, that’s the part to replace first.
Are parts interchangeable between series?
Some are, many aren’t. Always verify by part number rather than assuming a part from another series will fit.
