Common Broiler Problems and the Parts That Fix Them
Uneven heat or cold spots across the grill. Usually clogged burners or warped radiants. Grease drips onto the burners during service and blocks the ports over time — clean or replace the burners first, then check the radiants above them.
Cracked, sagging or warped grates. Broiler grates take constant thermal shock. Once a grate warps it no longer sits level, which causes uneven searing and product falling through.
Burner won’t light or the pilot keeps going out. Check the ignition components and pilot assembly, then the orifices for blockage.

Every American Range part carries a number stamped on the component itself, usually beginning with A or AI. Search that number to land on the exact part. Your broiler’s model and serial number are on the data plate attached to the unit. If the part number has worn off, send us the model and serial number and we’ll identify it.
